Edward Mortimer CMG (born 22 December 1943 in Burford, Oxfordshire) was until January 2007 the Director of Communications in the Executive Office of the United Nations Secretary-General. He is an author, journalist, and fellow of All Souls College Oxford.
Mortimer is now Senior Vice President of The Salzburg Global Seminar, and is a member of the Advisory Council of Independent Diplomat. Before joining the United Nations he was a columnist and leader writer for the Financial Times.
Mortimer was appointed Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George (CMG) in the 2010 New Year Honours.[1]
